Workplace First Aider - Certified training
The aim of this MAC SST training course is to maintain the skills of the Workplace First Aider (SST), as defined in the training reference framework, at a level at least equivalent to, or ideally higher than, that attained during the initial training.
Target audience:
Any employee responsible for delivering first aid within their organisation.
Terms and conditions of access
SST training is conducted exclusively in person and in accordance with the national legislation in force in the countries where it is delivered. The duration of the training, as well as the minimum and maximum number of participants, may vary depending on the country in which the training is conducted.
Prerequisites and entry requirements:
Participants must have completed the Workplace First Aider (SST) training within the last 24 months.
Training venue:
Our training organisation offers to deliver the course on-site at your company premises, in compliance with relevant national legislation.
Duration and delivery modalities:
The MAC SST refresher training is delivered exclusively in person and in accordance with national legislation in the country of delivery. The duration of the course, as well as the minimum and maximum number of participants, may vary depending on the country in which it is delivered.
- For example, in France, the course lasts 7 hours with a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 10 participants, in line with INRS guidelines;
- In Belgium, the course lasts a minimum of 4 hours and can accommodate up to 15 participants, with no minimum required, in line with the recommendations of the Federal Public Service for Employment, Labour and Social Dialogue;
- In Luxembourg, the course lasts 7 hours, with a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 25 participants, following INFS recommendations.
Objectives (targeted skills and competencies):
The learning objectives of this course are as follows:
- To protect yourself, the casualty and others from danger in an immediate, appropriate and sustained manner;
- To perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) with the use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator);
- To immediately deliver first aid to a casualty to prevent their condition from worsening while waiting for emergency services;
- To be capable of alerting or ensuring the alerting of emergency services;
- To identify a medical issue in a casualty, assess its severity and adapt the appropriate course of action.
Content, curriculum, modules, units:
The MAC SST training programme complies with INRS standards.
- Evaluation through a questionnaire to assess areas for improvement: o Protect;
- Assess;
- Alert;
- Severe bleeding;
- Choking;
- Prevention;
- Complaints of abnormal sensations;
- Burns;
- Pain preventing movement;
- Minor bleeding wounds;
- Unresponsive but breathing casualty;
- Unresponsive and not breathing casualty.
- Response to the issues identified in the evaluation based on company-specific risks;
- Experience sharing among participants;
- Practical exercises relating to theoretical topics, with assessment through one or more scenarios.
Assessment methods during and/or at the end of the training:
- Initial diagnostic test;
- Final skills validation through a practical exercise.
Training follow-up:
- Attendance sheets (or login list);
- Evaluation of daily learning outcomes;
- Post-training satisfaction questionnaire to be completed by each participant;
- Issuance of a certificate of attendance.
Description of training resources used:
