Training Program
Country risk & geo-specific
Geo-specific training courses are pre-deployment sessions tailored to the geographical area of travel and the type of trip being undertaken: a business trip covering several cities, a brief visit to a capital city, long-term expatriation, etc. These courses help personnel understand the risks associated with their destination and learn how to mitigate them.
Target audience:
Any personnel requiring training on the specific risks of a geographical area and/or wishing to enhance their security awareness.
Terms and conditions of access
Training duration is adapted to the type of deployment and the format chosen by the client, with the following parameters:
- The minimum required to validate basic training is 1 hour, delivered exclusively online;
- In-person training may last up to 4 hours, depending on client needs;
- Only one geographical region is covered per session.
Entry requirements:
No prerequisites. If the traveller already has prior knowledge of the country in question, they must inform the training provider. The traveller’s deployment conditions must also be shared with the trainer before the training session, via a travel form sent by the training organisation.
Training venue:
Training can take place online via videoconference or at the client’s premises, provided the location meets the necessary conditions.
Duration and organisation:
To promote interaction between the training team and participants, geo-specific training sessions are limited to 4 participants online and 15 participants in-person.
Objectives (Targeted Skills/Abilities)
The objective is to provide country-specific practical advice to reduce exposure to risks during business travel or expatriation.
The learning objectives of this training are as follows:
- Understand the specific characteristics of a country and adequately prepare for your trip;
- Understand and recognize a threatening situation;
- Optimize and perfect personal security management;
- Prevent and adopt appropriate behaviors to reduce risks associated with deployments in the area, country, or region in question;
- Acquire essential security knowledge and reflexes;
- Strengthen the participant's situational awareness in a specific area.
Content, programme, modules:
The course content can be adapted according to client needs and the scope of the analysis (region, country, city). For a 4-hour session, the topics covered include:
- General overview of the country;
- Everyday life in the country;
- Country-specific security risks and the nature of potential threats;
- Identification of high-risk and restricted zones;
- Focus on specific cities according to the traveller’s deployment area.
If the course is delivered in person, it may be combined with the "General Security Behaviour" module, which reinforces skills in managing risky situations and emergency responses. In such cases, training may last longer (1 full day) and accommodate up to 15 participants.
Assessment during and/or at the end of the course:
- Pre-course self-assessment sent digitally;
- Final knowledge check via a questionnaire.
Course monitoring:
- Attendance sheets (or login list);
- Evaluation of learning outcomes;
- Post-training feedback form completed by each participant;
- Issuance of a certificate of participation.
