Training Program - Crisis Management
and crisis situations
The objective of this training is to provide participants with practical advice to respond safely and proportionately in the event of a crisis, and to prepare them to manage all implications resulting from a crisis, including the handling of a hostage situation (Kidnap & Ransom). This training is adapted on a case-by-case basis to each business sector and the specific issues encountered by a company.
Target audience:
Any person requiring training in crisis management and/or wishing to establish a crisis management plan and a crisis communication procedure, including senior management teams and/or corporate security officers.
Terms and conditions of access
The duration of the training is adapted to the number of modules selected by the client, with three key constraints:
- The minimum required to validate the basic training is 2 days (a total of 16 training hours).
- The training lasts a maximum of 3 days (a total of 24 training hours), depending on the client’s identified needs.
- Each training day lasts a maximum of 8 hours.
Training location:
AMARANTE Académie offers several training centres in Europe, particularly in France and Belgium. Training can also be delivered at the client’s premises, including internationally, provided the location meets the required training conditions.
Duration and organisational arrangements:
To encourage exchange between our teaching team and participants, “Crisis Management” training sessions may accommodate up to 8 people per session.
Objectives (Targeted Skills/Abilities)
The learning objectives of this training are as follows:
- Understand the different types of crisis situations and how they differ from an unusual incident;
- Develop and optimize your crisis management plan, if necessary;
- Develop a notification procedure;
- Identify stakeholders in crisis management;
- Analyze best practices in crisis communication (internal and external).
Course content, programme, modules and units:
The course content and scenarios are specifically designed according to the client’s sector of activity and the security issues they face. Topics covered may include the following modules, as part of a 3-day training course:
- Risk analysis and threat identification.
- Development of a crisis management plan: agent intervention framework, technical and documentation framework, standard organisational structure, information flow diagram.
- Crisis prevention.
- Notification procedures to follow in the event of a crisis.
- Understanding the legal implications of the incident.
- Communication during a crisis.
- Stress management and decision-making in a critical situation.
- Managing media exposure.
- Post-crisis management.
Evaluation methods during and/or after training:
- Entry-level assessment test at the beginning of the training.
- Final assessment test to validate acquired skills through a practical exercise.
Training follow-up:
- Attendance sheets (or login records).
- Evaluation of daily learning objectives.
- Training evaluation form to be completed by each participant.
- Issuance of a certificate of participation.
Description of teaching resources used:
AMARANTE Académie ensures the transfer of know-how based on best practices and provides training that combines approximately 30% theory and 70% (max. 80%) practical exercises.
The practical part of the training is based on highly realistic simulations through scenarios developed by the instructor teams.
Each training session also includes a PowerPoint presentation used during the course (not distributed at the end). Lastly, the training is conducted interactively, with questions and answers, practical cases, and experience sharing.

Teaching team:
A dedicated teaching team will be selected according to your needs, made up of certified instructors with solid experience in crisis management. They will be available to support you throughout the training.
Depending on their profile, instructors possess several of the following:
- Significant experience in crisis management, particularly in humanitarian, health, political or industrial crisis contexts.
- Specialised training in crisis management, crisis communication, or change management under pressure.
- Recognised expertise in coordinating teams during emergencies, risk management, and decision-making under pressure.
- Ability to transfer practical, immediately applicable skills tailored to your organisation’s specific challenges and the types of crises likely to occur.
