Behavioural Analysis and Profiling
The “Behavioural Analysis and Profiling” course is designed to equip your staff with the necessary knowledge to analyse behaviours and identify suspicious or potentially risky conduct. The training also aims to foster the right reactions in the face of threats and enable participants to take appropriate action.
Target Audience:
All personnel, particularly security professionals (security officers, surveillance agents, close protection operatives) who require training in identifying high-risk behaviours.
Terms and conditions of access:
The training duration is flexible depending on the number of modules selected by the client, within the following parameters:
- The minimum requirement to validate the basic training is half a day, delivered either online or in person (equivalent to 4 hours);
- The course may extend to a maximum of 3 days (24 hours), depending on the client’s identified needs;
- Each training day is limited to a maximum of 8 hours.
Entry requirements and conditions for enrolment:
No prerequisites. Our teaching team is available to provide tailored support to each training group.
Training venue:
Training sessions are delivered either online (via videoconference) or at a location selected by the client, provided the venue meets the necessary training conditions.
Duration and organisational arrangements:
Each “Behavioural Analysis and Profiling” training session can accommodate up to 14 participants.
Aims (Targeted Skills/Competencies):
The educational objectives of this training are:
- To acquire knowledge of behavioural indicators linked to criminal activity, terrorism, or delinquency;
- To understand and recognise threatening situations;
- To develop skills in behavioural observation and analysis;
- To prevent and respond appropriately to high-risk behaviour;
- To strengthen situational awareness.
Course content, programme, modules, units:
Each course is tailored to the client’s specific needs and operational context.
Topics that may be covered in a half-day (4-hour) session include:
- Introduction to behavioural analysis;
- Foundations of profiling;
- Non-verbal communication;
- Detection of deception and manipulation;
- Visual assessment of relevant physical zones;
- Terrorism risks and identifying suspicious signs;
- Ethical considerations and limitations of behavioural analysis.
Assessment methods during and/or at the end of the course:
- Initial placement test at the start of training;
- Assessment of acquired knowledge via a multiple-choice test, practical analysis, and case study presentation.
Monitoring of course delivery:
- Attendance sheets (or online connection logs);
- Evaluation of learning objectives achieved;
- Course evaluation form to be completed by each participant;
- Issuance of a certificate of course completion.
Description of teaching methods and resources:
AMARANTE Académie ensures the delivery of expertise based on best practices, combining approximately 30% theoretical input and 70% (up to 80%) practical exercises.
Each training session includes the preparation and provision of a PowerPoint support document, which is not distributed at the end of the session. The course also includes interactive discussions, practical exercises, and experience sharing.

Training is available from EUR 1,600 per participant (excl. VAT), depending on the number of participants, location, and selected modules.

Teaching team:
A dedicated teaching team will be selected to match your needs from our pool of certified instructors, all of whom have strong experience in behavioural analysis. They will provide support throughout the course.
Depending on their profile, instructors may have:
- Operational experience in demanding contexts such as security, crisis management, human risk assessment, or detection of behavioural threats;
- Recognised skills in non-verbal communication, interview techniques, or interpreting interpersonal dynamics;
- Hands-on experience in behavioural analysis within institutional, judicial, diplomatic, or private-sector environments.
